“Staying true to myself and not copying someone else’s style I would say is part of the things that I have done that has brought me this far in this industry.”

MzVee said this is an interview with Bianca on This Morning On Viasat 1 when she was asked what her secret has been for her success in the music industry.

“Apart from the fact that I have an amazing team, I don’t think that I would have gotten this far if I had copied someone. The thing is if you copy what someone else is doing, you must always remember that you are not the only person copying and so eventually you have to fight for attention but if you come in with your own style and you are yourself, you will stand out.

“That is what my Natural Girl song is about, I want to able to wake up and go out with my natural hair braided in corn-roll, I want to wake up and wear red hair if I feel like it. I mean be myself and do what I feel like doing,” she said.

Born Vera Hamenoo – Kpeda, MzVee is popular for songs like Borkor Borkor, Harmatan, Natural Girl, Revolution, Dancehall Queen, Re-Vee-Lation, Gimme Dat and My Everything. She is currently promoting her latest single Abofra featuring Efya.
